How licensing works
Per seat, per year. A paid year always runs to its last day, online or not, and renewals reach every computer by themselves.
Seats
A seat licenses one Windows computer at a time for one product. It is issued as a license key that an investigator types into the application. A seat can be moved to a new computer from inside the application or from your account; a lost laptop's seat can be released by your agency administrator.
Terms and renewal
Terms are annual. We invoice against your purchase order. Renewing is always your choice: your administrator receives reminders 90, 60 and 30 days before the term ends and renews when your process allows. After a term ends without renewal the application opens read-only so your data remains viewable, searchable and exportable. Nothing is deleted and nothing is held back.
Free evaluation
Planning an operation? Verified agencies can request a free evaluation of Capture from their account, to try it on their own devices and accounts before the operation.
Tell us an operation's dates in advance and we will have someone on call for it (see Support).
Getting started
- Request accessA person verifies that the request comes from an agency, usually by calling the agency's published number.
- ReviewDocumentation, requirements, the license agreement and pricing appear in your account, where you can also request a free evaluation.
- OrderChoose products and seat counts. Pay by invoice against a purchase order.
- InstallDownload the current build from your account, verify its checksum, and enter a license key on first start.
- RenewReminders arrive before the term ends. A renewal is a new order for the same seats.
What the license service receives
When an online key is used, the application sends only the license key or identifier, the product and version, a hashed machine identifier, and, at redemption, the name and email the investigator types (older versions also ask for an agency). The service records the time and network address of each request. The license agreement enumerates this list and we do not extend it.
United States only
Morpheus software is licensed only to law enforcement and governmental agencies in the United States. Accounts, evaluations and orders are available to agencies in the United States and its territories.
Pricing
Pricing is per seat, per product, per year, and is provided to verified agency personnel in their account along with a quote and a W-9 on request. Agencies subject to public bid thresholds can ask us to structure an order accordingly.
